THE FIGHTING NEVER ENDSI CAN'T FACE THE DARK WITHOUT YOU. It was not going to be an easy job, that much had been very clear from the very beginning. The man they were after had apparently caused a lot of problems for other guardians in the past. He was hard to track down and normally when he had been found, someone would always get hurt and if they were lucky, no one would die. He was classified by the color red, one that already had a high chance of being put down but it was also just as possible he would not. It was not for Rox to judge the man.
All she was tasked with was finding him and bringing him if able. If not, it was made clear their only other option. At least this time Rox was not alone on this job. On task before such as this, she always was sent in it alone. Not that it bothered her any, it was easier that way because you had one less person to worry about getting in the way or being a potential hostage. Granted with where they were headed now, it looked like it was going to be impossible to avoid having a hostage involved. It would just depend on just how dangerous their target would get.
"Would you like to walk ahead of you?" Roxana asked Evelyn who was currently leading the way given she was the one who had tracked the target to the residential area. As she asked, Roxana held up her left hand that started to cover in a thin layer of crystals starting from her palm and slowly spreading over the rest of her hand. It was just to show that she could create a sort of armor for herself, meaning she could at least more likely survive any potential deadly attacks. It was still Evelyn's call, the other woman's power was useful. Rox had yet to see it in action in person, but she imagined if Evelyn could get the chance, it would make capturing the target far easier.
For the whole trip over here, Rox had not said much to the other woman, but now that it seemed they were getting close, Rox for whatever reason felt the need to say a bit more. Was it just because of a bad feeling or something else. It could not be nerves, Rox didn't get those for this kind of job. "Do you know which room the target is in specifically, or are we just going to have to start knocking on doors?" Roxana then asked, speaking a bit softer but still loud enough for the other woman to hear.
They were walking around an apartment complex, their target was in one of the rooms. Rox's power did not included mutant sensing and she had more or less been told to assist with this one. She could not help but feel that perhaps she was being put on the back-burner for some reason. [googlefont=Bitter]

[googlefont="Krub"] [attr="class","boxhover"] MY TWO NATURES HAD MEMORY IN COMMON [attr="class","boldtext2"]"No." Evelyn replied simply without allowing her eyes to stray from the path ahead. Brown orbs flicked back and forth, up and down, taking in their surroundings. She had grown rather familiar with Portland over the years, but some of the residental areas still blended together and it was hard remembering all of the streets and their names. Even so, the brunette didn't allow herself to be distracted from the task ahead.
"Second floor." She commented, a slender hand reaching for the elevator button. "That's where he's been spotted the most, though no one could say for sure which room he belongs to." The elevator dinged and started humming as it started moving. The screen above showed that the elevator was currently on the fourth floor, slowly making its way down.
It was only then that the brunette allowed herself a moment to look over her shoulder. Her brown eyes dropped to the other female's hand and her lips pursed. "If someone sees that," she began, nodding to her crystal-klad hand, "They'll likely panic." Evelyn's tone was matter-of-factly, but not in any way accusing. With that, the brunette turned her attention back towards the elevator.
It was odd, in a way, being out on a mission without Bellamy. Evelyn had grown so used to the female's presence, it almost felt as if something was missing. THE FIGHTING NEVER ENDSI CAN'T FACE THE DARK WITHOUT YOU. A simple no, Roxana said nothing and remained behind the other woman ad followed in silence. It honestly was a little odd working with someone who was similar to her. Or at least perhaps similar to who Roxana was before...or still was. The blonde was honestly not sure about anything involving herself. She just followed orders and tried to figure others out to better understand and interact with them. Orders for now were to assist Evelyn with the mission and if that meant feeling odd not being in front to ensure someone else didn't get hurt, she would do it.
Rox was honestly ashamed of herself for assuming there for a moment that the other woman would not be capable of protecting herself. "Would you like to split up to make the search quicker?" Roxana asked after being informed that the target was located on the second floor, but no one knew for certain which room. It would be a pain to knock on every single door on the second floor, plus it was not practical in terms of surprising their target. However, their was little else they could do unless the other woman had a trick up her sleeve. Rox didn't really have anything that could help find the target faster.
Roxana was a little hesitant to get into the elevator, only because it was such an enclosed and potential vulnerable location, but she remained with her 'partner' and remained silent. Blue eyes drifted down to her hand that still had a thin layer of crystals on it. The other woman was right that it could cause a panic but Rox was not too concerned over the matter. "You have a fair point. I'll be prepared in another way." Rox replied after a moment of hesitation.
The crystals on her hands started to shatter and fall to the ground, leaving a small cut on her hand as she slid both of her hands into pants pocket. Inside said pockets he started to prepare crystal daggers, never hurt to have a few of those ready to go right away. [googlefont=Bitter]

[googlefont="Krub"] [attr="class","boxhover"] MY TWO NATURES HAD MEMORY IN COMMON [attr="class","boldtext2"]Evelyn considered the suggestion for a moment before shaking her head. "Considering the lack of information that we have, we'd likely put ourselves more at risk by splitting up." It wasn't as if they couldn't track down this mutant again if they were to lose them. It was far better than being reckless and risking one of them getting hurt in the process. It was a calculated move on her part, but it made the most sense nonetheless.
Stepping into the elevator, Evelyn offered the other mutant a short nod when the crystal seemed to disappear from around her hands. Evelyn had always found powers that manifested in such a physical way to be a curious thing. While they were just as efficient as mental powers, there was some beauty to be found in the way they appeared still.
From the inside of her jacket pocket, Evelyn pulled out a small envelope. Handing it over to the blonde, the brunette's lips pursed. "The picture isn't the best, but it gives a general idea of what our target looks like." The photo had been printed from a gas station security camera. It was in black and white and somewhat... Blurry. But one could make out certain features, so it was a lot better than nothing. THE FIGHTING NEVER ENDSI CAN'T FACE THE DARK WITHOUT YOU. Evelyn's words were wise and clearly calculated for the best outcome in the situation that they were up against, but that didn't mean Rox agreed with her. Splitting up allowed them to search more ground, to increase their chances of running into him but the biggest risk of course was one of them getting hurt. Rox personally felt pretty confident she could handle herself, no matter who she went up against and with the power to freeze a person, she figured that Evelyn would have been fine as well. Yet, it was indeed reckless and Rox was not certain why she felt the need to be reckless of late.
This was not the first time she just wanted to take a route that would result in possible combat. Perhaps she felt like to make her job not feel as bad, she needed a justified reason to be doing any of this. Then again, it was on orders and she needed to follow them. "Reports did state that everyone that has gone after him so far has ended up hurt or killed. You are right, I apologize for asking so a foolish question." Roxana spoke up, running a hand through her hair. She needed to get her focus back, remember that it didn't matter how she felt about it, and that she had a job to do.
The elevator was about what you expected, basic, and it didn't even have any elevator music so it was mostly just silence between the two of them again. Rox didn't mind the silence but she still did not enjoy elevators and it had dawned on her that it had been a while since she had been in these metal boxes being pulled by wights and electricity. Blue eyes looked at the photo that was being handed to her now, something she probably should have asked to look at before they had even gotten this far. Wow, she really had not been on top of her game ad working with Evelyn was making that clear.
Perhaps she had been pared up with the other women on purpose for that very reason, she would ask about it later. "You would think in this day and age everyone would put an investment down to have higher quality cameras everywhere." Roxana said as she looked over the photo closely, trying to memorize every detail on the mans face. It would make so many crimes and issues so much easier and quicker to solve if people just had better cameras. Hell, they were not even that expensive these days. The elevator reached their floor, doors slowly opening and just as their was enough space a man rushed in.
Their target. Well it looked like they would not to have to go searching for him very far. It didn't even look like he was aiming for either of them in particular, but he was certainly bull rushing his way towards them. Rox quickly sidestepped to ensure she was out of the way as the rather large guy barreled into the back wall of the elevator, leaving a nice dent. [googlefont=Bitter]
